11-year-old Celtic fan wins Scottish goal of the month

11-year-old Celtic fan, Jay Beatty – known as “Wee Jay” has won the Scottish goal of the month after scoring a half-time penalty.

Beatty suffers from Down’s Syndrome, and was first introduced to fans when Greek midfielder, Georgios Samaras, picked him up from the crowd to celebrate last year’s Scottish Premiership triumph. Last month, during the half time break, he scored a penalty that was then entered for the goal of the month award.

Jay got an astonishing 97% of the votes and now will forever have the award for January 2015’s goal of the month. Check out the heart-warming video here:

Samaras has since moved to Saudi Arabia to play football, but when word of Wee Jay’s goal got to him he made a video of his own:
