A strange gameweek 1, was followed by a similar gameweek 2. The first round saw an average of just 34 (We scored 38), and this week the average was closer to normal (44), but none of the “big names” got points, again.
Shaw kept his second clean sheet in a row, Ozil got an assist while Payet and Benteke (c) scored for us. This total of 53 points puts Team Leftbacks above the average once again. We went up 215,000 places, and find ourselves in position 517,050 out of over 3.2 million people.
GAMEWEEK 3 TRANSFERS
We are still generally happy with our side, we may not be scoring big points yet, but we still think we have the right players to do well. We’ve decided to go with a few form players and build team value.
Last week we didn’t make a transfer, leaving us with two free transfers this week. We really wanted to keep Wayne Rooney for the full season, but after registering 0 shot on goal in his opening two games, we’ve had to give him the boot and bring in Aguero. Sterling has also disappointed so far this season. We thought he’d play behind Aguero but has actually been pushed wide left. So we’ve taken him out and downgraded him in order to fund Aguero. We’ve brought in Leicester’s form midfielder, Riyad Mahrez.
We gave some thought to giving the armband to Payet who both scored and assisted a goal, but after watching Aguero against Chelsea, we couldn’t possibly go with anyone else – he has the ability to score 4 or 5 in a game.
